Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-09-07. This page describes what actually runs on this site today — no more, no less.

HomeFixCompass is a static informational website. There is no login, no comments section, no online store, and no contact form. This policy explains the limited technical data involved in running the site. It is general information, not legal advice.

Analytics with consent denied by default

Every page loads Google Tag Manager, which runs Google Analytics 4 with all four Consent Mode signals — ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, and analytics_storage — defaulting to denied before any measurement runs. In this state Google tags do not read or write analytics or advertising cookies, and full measurement is not sent.

As Google documents, the denied state still transmits consent-state signals and cookieless pings to Google over normal HTTPS connections, which by nature include network data such as IP address, user agent, and referrer, used for basic communication and fraud and abuse protection. Google states it does not store or log IP addresses in Google Analytics. If you grant consent through the consent banner (Accept analytics), the site updates all four signals to granted and full measurement starts. Rejecting — or simply never choosing — keeps everything denied.

Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites) and how to safeguard your data (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245). You can opt out of Google Analytics with browser controls or the opt-out add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).

Cookies and local storage

We set no advertising cookies and run no login or functional cookies — there is nothing to log in to. The consent banner stores one first-party choice (accepted or rejected) in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again; it sets no cookies itself. Analytics cookies stay blocked unless and until you accept. Your browser's cookie controls always apply.

Hosting and server logs

Like virtually all websites, ours runs on shared hosting infrastructure that creates standard web-server access logs in the course of serving pages (typically IP address, timestamp, requested page, user agent, referrer, and response status) for security, operations, and error handling. We do not invent a retention schedule here; retention follows the hosting provider's defaults.

Advertising: not currently used

We do not currently display Google AdSense or other third-party ads, we operate no ads.txt file, and our banner asks only about analytics measurement — it is not a certified consent management platform. No advertising cookies are set.

If we enable personalized advertising in the future, we will update this policy before any ads run to identify Google and any other vendors, describe advertising cookies and personalization, provide opt-out links, and — for visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland — deploy a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework, as Google requires for personalized ads in those regions.

Who receives data

Today, measurement data described above goes to Google as our analytics processor, and request logs go to our hosting infrastructure so pages can be delivered. We sell no data, run no email marketing, and hold no account data because there are no accounts. See how Google handles business data (https://business.safety.google/privacy/).

Changes to this policy

Material changes — especially enabling advertising, analytics consent collection, or new vendors — will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
