Corrections Policy

Errors get fixed and disclosed — never silently rewritten.

What counts

A factual correction fixes something objectively wrong: a wrong procedure, an incorrect specification, a misattributed source. A significant update reflects changed reality: new equipment guidance, superseded manuals, or new safety information. Spelling and layout touch-ups are cosmetic edits, not corrections.

How corrections happen

Candidate errors — found through our scheduled content reviews, described in how we research — are assessed against the cited sources. Verified factual errors are fixed promptly, with safety-relevant errors taking priority over everything else.

How we disclose

Corrected articles carry a visible correction note and an updated date reflecting the substantive change. Cosmetic edits never move the updated date — a fresh timestamp must always mean fresh substance.

Reporting an error

Send correction reports tocontact@homefixcompass.comwith the page URL and what you believe is wrong. Safety-relevant reports take priority, and verified fixes are disclosed as described above.
